5 Days Travel Guide to Barcelona
Introduction
Barcelona is a city with a lot to offer, from amazing architecture to beautiful beaches. With its many museums, restaurants and shops, it’s the perfect destination for any traveler looking for a relaxing trip or an exciting vacation. We’ve put together this Barcelona travel guide that will help you plan your trip by highlighting the most important sites of this beautiful city!
Day 1 — The Sagrada Familia
The Sagrada Familia is one of Barcelona’s most famous landmarks and a must-see for any visitor to the city. It’s also the perfect place to start your trip, as it’s just a short walk from Pla de Catalunya metro station.
The cathedral is still under construction, but you’ll be able to get an up-close look at its stunning exterior design–which features intricate patterns and colorful stained glass windows–and explore inside some of its rooms that are already complete. To get the best views of this masterpiece, we recommend going early in the morning or late afternoon (before 5 pm). Otherwise, there will likely be long lines for tickets during peak season!
If you want even more insight into Gaudi’s incredible workmanship while exploring Barcelona, consider taking one of two tours offered by ArticketBCN: “Inside & Outside Sagrada Familia” or “The Labyrinths”. Both include entry into La Pedrera (another Gaudi building) as well as lunch at Casa Calvet restaurant where there are plenty of vegetarian options available too!
Day 2 — Park Guell
Park Guell is a park in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It was designed by architect Antoni Gaudà and built between 1900 and 1914. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Works of Antoni GaudÔ and is one of the most visited monuments in Barcelona.
Day 3 — Camp Nou Stadium
[On the third day,] you can visit the stadium of FC Barcelona. It is called Camp Nou and it’s one of the largest football stadiums in Europe. You can take a tour around this beautiful stadium, which was built in 1957. You will see many things about its history and architecture, as well as learn about its atmosphere during games and how fans behave there.Day 4 — Casa Batllo Museum and La Rambla Street
The Casa Batllo Museum is a must-see attraction in Barcelona. It was the former home of Josep Batllo i Casanovas, a Catalan industrialist who commissioned the building’s construction in 1904. The architect Antoni Gaudi designed it and he used his characteristic style that blends Gothic and Art Nouveau elements to create a unique architectural masterpiece.
The museum stands out from other museums because it allows visitors to explore its interior through a series of ramps rather than stairs (it has no elevator). Inside you’ll find many rooms decorated with ornate tiles, stained glass windows and sculptures by renowned artists such as Joan Miro and Pablo Picasso.
Day 5 — Montjuic Hill Park, Olympic Stadium and Placa d’Espanya
Day 5: Montjuic Hill Park, Olympic Stadium and Placa d’Espanya
The Montjuic Hill is a large hill overlooking Barcelona. It’s the perfect place to take in the views of Barcelona while enjoying some fresh air and exercise. There are plenty of hiking trails on the mountain that will lead you through forested areas, past ruins and even up to an abandoned castle! At the top there are also several museums including: Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC), Fundació Joan Miró and Museu del Modernisme Català (MMCC). After exploring all three museums we headed down into town where we visited Placa d’Espanya which is located right next door to Casa Batllo which was one of Gaudi’s most famous buildings during his lifetime
With these 5 days, you will be able to see most of Barcelona’s must-see attractions in one trip.
