How to Spend 5 Days in Paris

Introduction

Paris is a city that needs no introduction. It’s the most-visited city in the world, and for good reason. No matter your budget or preferred style of sightseeing, you’ll find something to do and somewhere to eat in Paris. But how many days does it take to fully explore this beautiful city? I’ve spent my fair share of time exploring Paris and can happily report that you can see all the best parts of it in just five days. With my expert tips below, you’ll be ready to plan your own quick trip too!

Day 1

  • Arrive at Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris.
  • Take the RER B train to Gare du Nord (about 30 minutes).
  • Take the metro to your hotel and check in, unpack and rest for a few hours before going out for dinner!

Day 2

Day 2: The Louvre and Beyond

Whether you’re interested in art or not, the Louvre is one of the most popular museums in the world. With over 35,000 works of art on display (including Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa), it can be overwhelming to try and take it all in during one visit. If you’re short on time, skip straight to the highlights by visiting The Origins of Western Painting and Sculpture: 1250-1800 galleries where you’ll find some of history’s greatest masterpieces by artists like Michelangelo, Rembrandt van Rijn and Caravaggio.

If your interests lie more with modern art than Renaissance pieces then head to Les Antiquites Grecques et Romaines (Greek & Roman Antiquities). Here you’ll find ancient statues as well as beautiful mosaics dating back thousands of years ago! You might also want to check out another museum while visiting Paris – Musée d’Orsay houses 19th century artwork including paintings by Degas and Monet among others; admission costs just under $13 USD per person so consider splurging on this one if possible!

Day 3

If you’re spending five days in Paris, you’ll want to make sure that you have time to see the Louvre and Notre Dame. Both are iconic landmarks that are worth visiting.

If there’s a particular building or monument that interests you, such as the Arc de Triomphe or Champs Elysees, then go ahead and visit it! There’s no shortage of things to do in Paris–you could easily spend five days exploring new neighborhoods and trying out restaurants every day if this is what interests you most about being in Paris (and why wouldn’t it be?).

Day 4

  • Visit the Louvre (closed on Monday)
  • See the Eiffel Tower at night
  • Walk around Champs Elysees in the evening, or take a boat ride on the Seine river
  • Visit Notre Dame cathedral, one of Paris’ most famous landmarks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site
  • Take a stroll through Les Halles underground mall, which houses over 100 shops and restaurants, including Au Pied de Cochon (a Michelin star restaurant) and Fouquet’s Barriere (a historic brasserie)

Spend five days in Paris.

You can spend five days in Paris and have a great time. The city is beautiful and there are many things to do, including visiting the Eiffel Tower and going to museums. Also, the weather is nice in May–not too hot or cold!

If you’re looking for an affordable way to get around town, consider taking public transportation instead of taxis or Uber rides (which are very expensive). The Metro is very easy to use: just buy an occasional pass at any metro station vending machine before your trip begins so that all your travel expenses will be paid for at once by using cash or credit card instead of paying each time through mobile payment apps like Apple Pay or Samsung Pay

Conclusion

Paris is a city of beauty and culture. It has a history that spans centuries, and it’s filled with monuments, museums, parks and more. If you’re planning on spending five days here, there are plenty of things to do!
